Physical Education Department was established in the year 1964. Mr. Krishnan Nair was the first physical education professor. The performance in sports, its peek after the establishment of Sports Hostel (Volleyball men) in the year 1997.It is aided by Kerala State Sports Council. Council has also appointed a volleyball coach to train the students. Mr. Mukundan Nambiar was the first volleyball coach appointed by Kerala Sports council. All the players come under sports hostel has to follow the rules and regulations of Kerala Sports Council. The college management has given free accommodation to these students. Mess and Washing allowance are met by sports council. At present 20 seats are reserved under sports quota for UG and 1 seat for PG programme. Department has produced many outstanding sports persons including former Indian volleyball captain Mr. Joby Joseph. Many of the players are placed in Indian Army, Police and other Govt. Departments.
