The Government of Kerala sanctioned BSc Zoology course at Pazhassi Raja NSS College, Mattanur in 1993. P. Muraleedharan took over the charge of Head of Department in 1993. Regular teachers were appointed in 1996. Sanctioned student strength of BSc Zoology Programme is 35.
